Indo-Tajikistan relations

1. Recently, Tajikistan and India signed an agreement against terror financing and money laundering.
2. These agreements are helpful in containment of the Terrorism and Terror funding through money laundering in afghanistan. Funding Bases of terrorism in tajikistan(may not be physical bases) would be eliminated with close cooperation between india and Tajikistan. 
3. India and Tajikistan live in an extended neighbourhood that continues to face multiple security threats and challenges. Combating terrorism is an important area of cooperative engagements.
   
4. With help of India, Tajikistan will intensify defence and counter-terror cooperation and will work to stabilise Afghanistan in its neighbourhood. 
5. Tajikistan is always support India’s candidature for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and India’s bid for permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council.
6. Recently, the Financial Intelligence Unit of India and the Central Asian country signed an agreement to prevent financing of terrorism and money laundering. 
7. Both sides also signed agreements on bilateral investment and avoidance of double taxation.
8. Tajikistan invited India to invest in four free economic zones that have come up in the country and recently thanked it for the modernisation of the Varzob-1 Hydropower Station.
9. the signing of the trilateral Chahbahar port agreement between India, Iran and Afghanistan is important project to Tajikistan also as it will provide connectivity to Tajikistan.
10. Both sides will commemorate their 25th anniversary of diplomatic engagement in 2017.
